FireDaemon Tips & Tricks
Chapter 1: Heat is the enemy.
Computers, like all electronic devices give off heat. But for computers heat can cause them to fail. That’s why it’s important to keep your case clean. Most people rarely or never clean their cases. I remember once during my internship, I was fixing one of the employees’ computers and I opened the case. What I saw shocked and disgusted me. There was a 1 inch layer of dust on everything. I couldn’t believe it.
At the minimum you should clean your computer every 3 to 6 months or a year at the most if you can’t do it earlier. My next blog post will include details on how to do this.
P.S. Do not try cleaning your computer yet, as you can damage it. Wait for my next blog entry.

A little about me (Jordan)
Hello Everyone,
I work for FireDaemon and I’ll regularly be blogging here about computer related things.
In the coming weeks I’ll be writing a tutorial about the A to Z of computer maintenance. It will be huge but contain everything you need to know about running your computer from hardware to software to security.
I figured I would tell a little about myself before beginning the tutorial.
As stated in the first sentence, I work for FireDaemon. I do tech support, forum maintenance, video and text tutorials and a little graphics here and there. My background is Network Management and I easily work with client and server systems. I’ve also been running gaming communities for the past 6 years and I’m a hardcore gamer. I have 3 pet aquatic turtles and they are 16 years old.
So that’s about it. Stay tuned for the tutorial! It will be epic!
